Dr Hayley Smith

Dr Hayley Smith is a Consultant Dermatologist with specialist expertise in melanoma, acne, and cosmetic dermatology. She provides comprehensive care across the full spectrum of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer, inflammatory skin disease, paediatric dermatology, and complex medical dermatology.

Dr Smith graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2012 and completed her postgraduate dermatology training in Yorkshire. During this time, she gained extensive experience in mole assessment, skin cancer diagnosis and surgery, acne management, psoriasis, connective tissue disorders, photobiology, cutaneous allergy, vulval dermatology, hair disorders, and chronic skin conditions such as leg ulceration.

She holds a substantive consultant post at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where she leads specialist mole and melanoma clinics. Her work includes the assessment and management of high-risk patients, including those with multiple atypical moles or a family history of melanoma. She provides detailed mole-mapping and risk assessment, alongside surgical and non-surgical management of both malignant and benign skin lesions.

Dr Smith also holds a postgraduate diploma in skin ageing and aesthetic medicine and has expertise in personalised, prescription-grade skincare. In addition, she has a BSc in Psychology, supporting a holistic approach to patient care. She is actively involved in research, with publications and presentations in the fields of skin cancer and acne at national and international level.
