Dr Hamish Hunter

Dr Hamish Hunter is an accomplished Consultant Dermatologist and Clinical Director of Dermatology who provides comprehensive specialist care for a wide range of dermatological conditions. Known for his reassuring and patient-centred approach, he combines high-level clinical leadership with extensive research experience to deliver evidence-based care. His principal focus lies in managing complex inflammatory skin disorders, with a particular emphasis on improving outcomes for individuals affected by long-term skin conditions.

Dr Hunter undertook his preclinical medical training at the University of St Andrews, where he gained a Bachelor of Medical Sciences with Honours. He completed his clinical medical degree at the University of Manchester, graduating in 2001, before undertaking specialist training in Dermatology on the Mersey rotation. Demonstrating a strong commitment to academic medicine, he later earned a PhD from the University of Manchester for research investigating the brain-skin axis. He holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and serves as an Associate Editor for the British Journal of Dermatology.

In his clinical practice, Dr Hunter is dedicated to delivering individualised treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. His expertise encompasses modern approaches to psoriasis, eczema, acne, and skin cancer. As a Chief and Principal Investigator in clinical trials, he actively contributes to evaluating innovative systemic therapies and biologic treatments, helping to bring new medical advancements into routine care.
