Dr Grant Michael Watling

Dr Grant Michael Watling is a dedicated Consultant Anaesthetist committed to providing safe, comprehensive, and patient-centred care. Working closely alongside surgical teams, he plays an essential role in preparing patients for surgical procedures, managing anaesthesia, and maintaining physiological stability in the operating theatre and recovery environments. His practice focuses on tailoring perioperative strategies to meet the unique medical needs of every individual.

Dr Watling completed his primary medical training in Cape Town, South Africa, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 1989. He went on to earn a Diploma in Anaesthetics (DA) in South Africa in 1993 and passed the Evaluating Examination of the Medical Council of Canada in 1995. Following his move to the United Kingdom, he completed postgraduate specialist training within the London region. He attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) in 1999 and was awarded Foundation Fellowship of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FFICM) in 2011.

With extensive experience spanning general anaesthetics, regional techniques, and critical care, Dr Watling manages a wide range of surgical cases. His clinical work encompasses thorough pre-operative assessments, precise airway control, acute pain management, and post-operative monitoring. His background in both anaesthesia and intensive care medicine enables him to manage complex cases with diligent clinical focus and precision.
