Dr. Garry Savin

Dr Garry Savin is a multi-award winning Harley Street doctor who practises from UME Health at number 17 Harley Street  in central London and is the Founder and Director of Lumen Harley Street Advanced Health Assessments. 

He trained as a doctor at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, London, qualifying in 1989 and working in general medicine including oncology and surgery posts. He spent a further 3 years in the hospitals of East London training to become a GP, working in the specialities of Accident & Emergency medicine, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. After a further year as a trainee, he qualified as a GP in Enfield North London where he worked for many years and developed a passionate interest in preventative medicine. He took this passion over to the private sector and helped to develop Nuffield Hospitals Health Screening since its instigation and soon became their National Clinical Advisor to Health Screening for five years with clinical responsibility for 44 Wellness Centres and some 244 Health screening doctors throughout the UK. During this time, he helped to set up 7 health assessment centres in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Previously Dr Savin has also practised at the London Clinic in Harley Street for 6 years and at the Hospital of St John and Elizabeth's in St John's Wood, as well as several clinics in Harley Street.

He joined and co-founded  "Preventicum" in February 2006 and was the Medical Director and lead doctor for over 13 years, developing advanced medical imaging as a health assessment tool. He was the first doctor in the UK to pioneer MRI scanning in advanced health assessments for preventive health in the private sector and has introduced several new technologies into health assessments including  Stress echocardiograms, multiparametric Perspectum Liver scanning, biparametric MRI prostate  scanning and Brainkey 3D volumetric brain analysis.

He now practises at the new, fully refurbished UME Health Diagnostic Centre, Harley Street in Central London's prestigious medical district, which has an extensive on-site suite of 'state of the art' diagnostic scans.

During his 38 year medical career Dr Savin has enjoyed performing well in excess of 23,000 health assessments making him one of if not "the  most" experienced doctors in the field of advanced health assessments and preventive medicine.

Since founding Lumen Harley Street in 2020 he has been humbled to have won 16 combined awards  and has accumulated over 1,000 five star ratings on "Doctify" as well as appearing as Top Recommended in the Spears 500 listing for the last 4 years in a row.

A keen adventurer, "explorer', photographer, conservationist and Medical Expedition Doctor on over a dozen expeditions worldwide, he has travelled extensively to the developing world, and been privileged to work alongside wildlife experts specialising in orangutans, Asian elephants, venomous snakes and snow leopards, including multiple trips to Nepal, India, Mongolia, the South American Amazon jungle, Costo Rica, the Andes, Papua New Guinea, Borneo and Sumatra. He is a keen advocate of the natural world

He was also an ambassador for the charity "Doctors in Distress" supporting the mental health of health care workers. www.doctors-in-distress.org.uk and a member of the Scientific exploration society and the UK Orangutan Foundation.
