Consultant Haematologist | The Christie at Macclesfield 

Dr Faye Sharpley is a Consultant Haematologist at The Christie at Macclesfield, where she has practised since 2020. She is joint Clinical Director of the Christie Haematology and Teenage & Young Adult (TYA) Service (2024–present), one of the UK's leading specialist cancer centres, and Chair of the UK North Myeloma Forum. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the UK Myeloma Society.

Dr Sharpley completed her undergraduate and postgraduate education at the University of Cambridge, followed by medical training in London and specialist haematology training in Oxford. 

She has wide-reaching haematological expertise including the diagnosis and treatment of patients with both cancerous and non-cancerous conditions. Her particular interest is supporting and treating pateints with Multiple myeloma and systemic AL amyloidosis, and has published widely on both conditions. She is a passionate advocate for patients with AL amyloidosis, working to improve access to specialist expertise across the North of England.

Under her leadership, the haematology team at The Christie at Macclesfield established a holistic Myeloma Clinic and achieved the Myeloma UK Clinical Excellence Service Award — a national accreditation recognising the highest standards of myeloma care. Dr Sharpley has been continuously recognised with the iwantgreatcare award for outstanding patient feedback from 2019 to 2025, reflecting her commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care.

She accepts private referrals for adults with:

• Multiple myeloma (newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory)
• Systemic AL amyloidosis (newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory) 
• Non-malignant/non-cancerous conditions such as the investigation and management of immune thrombocytopenia, anaemia
• The treatment of iron deficiency anaemia
