About Dr. Farhan Syed
Dr Farhan Syed is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon with a particular focus on hip and knee reconstruction and complex trauma cases. Working at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire in the NHS, he manages a diverse caseload, ranging from high-energy life-changing injuries to established hip and knee arthritis.
Dr Syed completed his medical degree in Hyderabad, India, graduating in 2007 before pursuing postgraduate training in orthopaedic surgery in the same city. In 2012, he moved to the UK to further his career. He obtained his FRCS(Tr & Orth) in 2017 and underwent specialised fellowship training in trauma at UHCW, a major trauma centre, and in high-volume lower limb joint replacement surgery (hip and knee) at Warwick Hospital.
With a strong research background, Dr Syed actively contributes to audits and multicentre randomised control trials. He regularly presents his research findings at conferences and publishes in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Syed is passionate about teaching and serves as an educational/clinical supervisor for trainees at various career stages. He also organises educational meetings to enhance postgraduate doctors' training and contributes to teaching phase 3 students at Warwick Medical School.

This was my last visit with Doctor Syed. I am so pleased I had him as my surgeon for my hip replacement. The whole procedure went better than I could of hoped for and it is a wonderful feeling now being pain free. Thankyou. His stitching is also amazing !!!!! Good Job. 👍
Consultant wanted to know whether I was glad I had the hip replacement, had it made a difference, and I confirmed it had as I no longer had the pain that side and had more flexibility. He checked the scar and said to massage this now. I explained was having problems with my other hip but he said as not on regular pain killers they would not consider surgery as yet. He said he would see me again in 6 months but this could be brought forward or pushed back depending on how I am. I was very happy with this flexibility and with my consultation.
At our post hip op' consultation Dr.Syed showed me the Xray of the replacement hip and it looks well, and any discomfort in the muscles and tendons will decrease in time as they become stronger.
My experience was great. Dr Syed was very professional and friendly. His explanations were clear and informative.

This was a follow up to the total hip operation Mr Sayed performed on my left hip. He explained how to massage the scar to help with scar tissue. He showed the xray of new hip and I was able to ask questions about what the hip was made of. I was very happy with the outcome and look forward to a painfree future.
Dr Syed was very professional and listened to me. He reassured me of any concerns I had. My operation was very successful. I would definitely recommend him as a surgeon.
