Erin Lahay is a physiotherapist at Better, Soho & Pure Sports Medicine, Moorgate. She has been working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist for 18 years after having completed a Master of Physiotherapy from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. She has also completed the Manual Therapy Levels 1–4 in mobilization and manipulation with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. Her clinical experience as well as her involvement in sports throughout her life has helped her understand the importance of addressing both the physical and mental challenges associated with injuries.
Specializations:
For the past 13 years Erin has worked in London in sports medicine where she has established long-standing relationships with some of the leading sports and orthopaedic consultants. She works within multidisciplinary teams to enable more personalized treatment and quicker recovery for patients.
Approach: She uses a combination of exercise (including Reformer Pilates), manual therapy (joint mobilizations, manipulations and soft tissue techniques)and education to empower individuals to regain control of movement and achieve their goals. She enjoys treating all musculoskeletal conditions and especially loves problem-solving complex cases and treating persistent pain. She believes the best treatment plan relies on determining the underlying cause of an injury as well as an accurate diagnosis. A good exercise program is often the best form of rehabilitation and it is paramount in preventing injuries from recurring.
In her free time Erin enjoys playing with her four-year-old daughter, running, travelling to places off the beaten track and playing piano in a funk band.

Ms Erin Lahay gives professional, thorough, and supportive care to patients. Her tailored rehabilitation plans include strengthening exercises, objective progress tracking, and a holistic body view. She helps patients reduce pain, improve movement, and enables return to sport for many injury types. Her expertise commonly aids recovery from knee pain, lower back pain, and running injuries through comprehensive rehabilitation.
Erin has a thorough approach to physiotherapy by performing a series of initial tests and providing a progressive exercise plan to identify the cause of an issue and address it permanently. I would really recommend working with Erin.
I came to Erin to address some running injuries, specifically hip and ankle pain. From the very first day the experience working with her has been incredible. She was the first physio to truly look at my injuries holistically, and really consider how weaknesses in one part of my body could have resulted in an injury. Erin always confirmed her hypothesis about injuries with rigorous testing and always made sure that I perform strengthening exercises correctly. Thanks to Erin, I went from wondering if I will ever be able to run half marathon again, to completing a marathon in a great time (and injury free!).
I can’t recommend Erin enough. From the very first session, she was incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping me recover properly - not just treating the symptoms, but understanding the root cause and building a plan that actually worked. Erin is professional, encouraging, and explains everything in a way that makes you feel confident and motivated throughout the process. I’ve made huge progress thanks to her care, patience, and expertise, and I honestly feel lucky to have found her. If you’re looking for a physio who truly cares about their patients and goes above and beyond, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Erin.

Thank you very much for your kind review. It's great to see how far you've progressed over the past year. I'm happy to hear I've helped build your confidence and well done with your amazing strength gains!

I have worked with Erin for almost 1 year now, and she has been brilliant. We had to try a number of different things to identify the root cause of my calf pains. Erin was patient, thorough and positive throughout. At every stage she explained what we were trying to do to diagnose and/or improve my condition. I went from not being able to run more than 1km to now running 5km twice per week, and I am very grateful.
Erin helped me recover following a climbing injury (rotator cuff). She explained everything very clearly and made sure I was comfortable with all the exercises before leaving each session. All the exercises were available in an app with example videos and the ability to track the reps and sets which was useful. Erin also helped to assess my running form and trainers before an ultramarathon. I would highly recommend Erin :)

Thank you for the lovely review. I'm glad you found the exercises and the app easy to follow and helpful in achieving a full recovery. Also well done on the completion of your first ultra marathon. It's been a very successful year for you so far!
I've had PT since I was 9 years old (1992 in case of interest...). I've probably seen 20+ Physio specialists for different issues (lower back, upper back, knees). Since 2022, Erin has been my go to, without a doubt, even if it means some logistics challenges as venue not so close to my home or office (I discovered Erin and the clinic as I used to be local). Has been a real game changer (since seeing Erin no problem has come back after seeing her and properly following her recommendations). Recenly, after a fall that injured my right leg and limited my mobility, incl. knee bending challenges, I saw Erin for the usual initial assessment. She was, as always, outstanding—kind, attentive, and highly professional. Her assessment was thorough and thoughtful, she clearly identified the issues, and did refer me to a sports doctor to confirm her initial thoughts, which ended up showing excellent judgment. I felt genuinely cared for and confident in her expertise throughout.

Thank you very much for your kind review. I'm always happy to help and it's great to see your recent injury is improving.
I came to Pure Sports Medicine with knee pain from running. I saw Erin who identified the issue and recommended a course of exercises and to see the podiatrist. Collectively this really improved my knee and I’ve been able to run further without pain. It was always a pleasure to see Erin and she kept me motivated and doing the exercises.
I came to see Erin about my “runners knee”. She put together a comprehensive rehabilitation plan. She also referred me to the podiatrist who helped me find more suitable running shoes. The plan worked really well and I was able to run further without pain. She was always a pleasure to see and kept me on track.
I’m very happy with my experience with Erin. I came in with upper back tension and limited shoulder rotation, and after a few months I now have full rotation, much more strength, and far better symmetry. Erin regularly tracked my progress with objective strength data, which was really reassuring. Her colleagues Charlie and Simon were also great—Charlie helped assess symmetry and leg strength with force plates, and Simon’s osteopathy work (especially identifying tension in my first rib) made a big difference to my neck mobility. Highly recommended.

PodiatristErin is a thoughtful and highly professional physiotherapist who brings a calm, reassuring presence to her work. She takes the time to really listen to her patients, not just to their symptoms but to them as people, which makes a real difference to how supported and understood they feel. She is reflective, open, and genuinely willing to learn, and is always keen to collaborate with colleagues in the best interests of her patients. I have found Erin easy and constructive to work alongside, with clear communication and a shared focus on delivering high quality, patient centred care. I would hav...
