Dr Ellen Bruce

Dr Ellen Bruce is a highly regarded Consultant Rheumatologist who specialises in diagnosing and managing a wide range of musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. With a patient-centred approach, she is dedicated to providing comprehensive, reassuring care to individuals navigating complex rheumatological disorders. Dr Bruce also serves as a Clinical Lead, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical excellence within her field.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of rheumatology, with particular expertise in inflammatory arthritis and systemic lupus. Dr Bruce has a keen interest in adolescent and young adult rheumatology, working closely with Paediatric Rheumatologists to support young people as they transition from paediatric to adult healthcare services. Additionally, her areas of clinical focus include early inflammatory arthritis and the diagnostic use of ultrasound to ensure timely and accurate assessments for her patients.

Dr Bruce qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours (MBChB Hons). She has furthered her academic and clinical training by obtaining a Master of Research (MRes) and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Alongside her clinical duties, she is actively involved in undergraduate medical education, helping to train and mentor the next generation of medical professionals.
