He graduated with his medical qualification from Minia University in Egypt in 1995 before completing his higher specialist training in Egypt during which he was awarded a Master's degree (MSc) in Internal Medicine from Cairo University in 2002 (recognized by NARIC as equivalent to UK MSc). His dissertation during his Master's degree was titled “Virtual Colonoscopy”.
He obtained MRCP UK in 2011 and Speciality Certificate exam in Gastroenterology 2015 (The Federation of Royal colleges of Physicians UK & British Society of Gastroenterology). He also has Joint Advisory Group of GI Endoscopy (JAG) accreditation in diagnostic gastroscopy (OGD) and colonoscopy. Additionally, he is an interventional endoscopist and endoscopy trainer.
