Dr. Edward Lake

Dr. Edward Lake is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist who specialises in diagnosing and managing a wide range of vascular and venous conditions using advanced, minimally invasive techniques. Committed to delivering compassionate and patient-centred care, he focuses on providing effective procedures that minimise patient discomfort and allow for rapid recovery times. Dr. Lake works collaboratively with every patient to design personalised treatment plans, ensuring they feel supported, well-informed, and fully reassured at every stage of their care.

Dr. Lake earned his primary medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Manchester in 2006. Following his core medical training, he completed specialist higher training in clinical radiology before undertaking advanced sub-specialty training in vascular and interventional radiology. Alongside his clinical duties, Dr. Lake has held prominent clinical leadership roles within major public healthcare teaching trusts, including serving as a Clinical Director of Vascular Radiology.

In his clinical practice, Dr. Lake has developed extensive expertise in treating venous conditions such as varicose veins, thread veins, and peripheral vascular disease. He performs keyhole procedures including ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy and endovenous laser ablation, alongside diagnostic vascular ultrasound imaging. His wider clinical interests include cardiothoracic and vascular imaging, peripheral arterial interventions, complex vascular access, embolisation, and chemoembolisation. Known for his gentle approach and clear communication, Dr. Lake takes great pride in helping patients achieve optimal clinical outcomes and improved quality of life.
