    About

During the Coronavirus Outbreak video and remote consultations are being offered and insurance companies are covering such consultations

Nisith is a senior consultant in the Dermatology Surgery and Laser Unit of St John’s Institute of Dermatology (Guys' and St Thomas’ NHS Trust). He holds a substantive consultant post here and helps train junior doctors and the honorary consultants who visit from external departments to gain further experience from the UK and abroad. This is the largest clinical dermatology department in the UK. It opened in 1868 and is now one of the world’s leading centres for patients with skin problems.

Nisith entered medical school with a British Medical Association scholarship and graduated with class and national prizes. He went on to train in the UK, USA and Canada and completed additional fellowship training in complex skin surgery, particularly Mohs micrographic surgery, lasers and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. He won an award at the American Academy of Dermatology for research in melanoma skin cancer.

Nisith treats a range of skin problems including acne, rosacea, moles, skin cancers, scars, discolouration, eczema, psoriasis and ageing skin. Nisith also receives referrals from GPs and other specialists for his opinion on managing common and rare skin problems and complications following cosmetic procedures.

He has access to the latest technology and has a network of highly trusted colleagues from other specialties who he can call upon to manage the most complex cases.

He is often invited to give lectures at specialty conferences and advises the media and legal profession on a range of skin topics. He is a regular speaker for the European Society of Micrographic Surgery.

Nisith sits on the boards of a number of national and European committees, including ones for the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group and the Royal College of Surgeons Cosmetic and Reconstructive Interface Group, that set standards for practice and training. He is also a college representative for The Royal College of Physicians.

For me it was an intervention in a very sensitive area that could have changed my physiognomy. The patience and the details that Dr. Sheth gave me led me to resort to this intervention with confidence that first of all the unhealthy tissue will be removed and secondly that I will look like before. Because I was very satisfied from the first visit, I returned from Romania to Doctor Sheth for 3 more consultations and interventions. The fact that you trust the solutions recommended by your doctor, gives you a state of safety and comfort, for which I thank him.

Dr. Sheth is a caring and compassionate Doctor and he accurately described the MOHS procedure he was undertaking on my lower eyelid. If I had not been fortunate enough to find Dr. Sheth it could have been a scarring experience on the tip of my eye socket. Instead, two months later, I can barely see any mark there at all. Thank you so much Dr. Sheth.

Complicated surgery on my forehead with Mohs for squamous cell carcinoma; previous surgery around the location meant skin was not elastic, but he managed to get the cancer out and stitch it up without a skin graft which was no mean feat. It healed really well and friends and family commented how good it looked and that they could hardly tell. Great manner; very responsive, communicated excellently as well as being an exceptionally accomplished surgeon. No hesitation in recommending him. Peter Hill.
