George Bownes has is a sports enthusiast and ultra marathon runner whose own understanding of the toll physical injuries can have has enriched his work as a physician. He has worked extensively within rehabilitation units around the UK including leading the Defence Military Rehabilitation Centres in Headley Court and Standford Hall. He now leads a wide ranging multi-disciplinary team in rehabilitating complex musculoskeletal injuries.
Dr Bownes has worked with the Premiership Football team and the English Institute of Sport working with British Olympic Athletes. He also works as Lead Doctor at Harlequins Rugby Club, as Chief Medical Officer for British Skeleton and as a Tournament Physician at The All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon for The Championships.
