Best Podiatrist ever, went to extra length to explain everything and be extra sensitive to the needs and concerns of a young teenager

David was extremely helpful and thorough, asking questions that I hadn’t even contemplated as having an impact.

In 2020 I went from my peak fitness able to cycle 100miles in a day to hardly able to walk around the block due to pain in my feet. I developed an issue with circulation & sensation in my feet, then feet and calves became more and more painful. I saw a bunch of specialists who were unable to diagnose the issue. The closest I recieved to an explanation was “it may be after effects of Covid-19”. One of the specialists referred me to David Gruhl, and I’m so pleased he did. I’ve seen so many medical professionals since the problems with my lower limbs started and David is by far the best, and has had the greatest impact. David listened carefully to my explanation of symptoms, examined my feet, analysed my gait, then made some test modifications to my existing insoles to see how I responded. Once we found the adjustments that helped he had some custom orthotics made for me. They helped a lot and my feet began to feel better… I still have the circulatory/nerve issues and my feet recover slowly from any strain but the insoles help reduce the strain on them. I tried using the orthotics when cycling and found they helped a bit, but cycling was still hard on my feet. I spoke to David about it and he explained that my feet need different support for cycking. He had some cycling specific insoles made up, with more aggressive arch support, a metatarsal button etc. Those have been fantastic! I now able to do rides of 30+ miles and my feet feel fine afterwards. Cycling is very important to me so I am extremely thankful to David for helping me get back out on my bike.

David was very patient and diligent in his treatment, not to mention friendly and approachable. He heard me out and carefully explained the likely sources of pain and how best to treat it. He created new orthotics for me and took his time to ensure they fit well with all my shoes. He provided a program of exercises to help me improve as well. The orthotics were very successful and I’ve had no further issues since I started wearing them. Overall, a very positive experience and I highly recommend David.

Being my first appointment with David he gave me a full hour's consultation. I couldn't fault his attention to detail and clear explanation of my foot injury. I am really pleased to have found such a professional podiatrist on my doorstep. I left so much more confident of the future prognosis and have decided to repeat these appointments every 6 mths to maintain best foot health. After suffering a simple accident I realise how very important to maintain strong healthy feet if I intend to remain fit into my latter years.

Had a really good experience with David. He's very thorough, explains everything really clearly, and is totally professional and knowledgeable. I've also been particularly impressed with his after-care: always following up, checking in, generally making sure that I'm alright. Highly recommended.

Very knowledgeable and I consider a real expert in his biomechanic and gait analysis where his attention to detail really separates him from many of his piers

I have worked with David closely managing both simple and complex foot and ankle problems. David is a sports podiatrist in the wider sense. He manages musculoskeletal issues of the lower limb and has a biomechanical approach incorporating exercise therapy and ground force modulation with orthotics. His approach is friendly, professional and patient centred. I have no hesistation recommending him for friends, family and my patients

I have discussed cases with David, and also done post-graduate study alongside him. His approach to podiatry is excellent but unique due to his other interests in S&C. I suppose the mark of a good endorsement is whether I would be happy having a patient see him; and I would have no hesitation.
