Dr Ullah is a Consultant Cardiologist with many years of experience, who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders and the implantation and management of heart devices, like pacemakers. His NHS base is the University Hospital Southampton.
He qualified as doctor from Guy's King's and St Thomas School of Medicine, and also gained his BSc in Neuroscience. After gaining his qualifications, he undertook training within London and the South East, training in electrophysiology and devices at a variety of prestigious London hospitals, such as St Thomas Hospital, Harefield Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital, under leading experts. During his training, Waqas gained particular interest in complex ablation and congenital heart disease, and went on to gain his clinical PhD in this research area. This gave him knowledge and expertise of modern technologies within pacing and ablation, and also published various peer reviewed papers on such techniques, in high status scientific journals. He is also active in the teaching community, by taking time to train other consultants both nationally and internationally in how to undertake complex cardiology procedures.

Dr Ula was very kind and explained things very clearly He explained all the different options for my AF treatment and I’m saying on the Sotol for the moment, explains the pros and cons of other procedures, which I’m not keen on, but obviously if it’s necessary going to work better, I’ll have to have it if it happens again and he gave me the AF Nurses number to contact them if I have any questions
