I came away feeling like an idiot for attending. I’m sure it was meant to be reassuring but I had only sought advice from a cardiologist after being told by 3 doctors I should. I was left feeling like it was stupid of me to have wasted his time, but obviously not enough for him to not want further testing? I understand the cause of my symptoms might not be in his specialism but he could’ve been kinder and suggested a recommendation for another discipline to see if more suitable following outcomes of my testing.

I'm sorry you felt that way, it was not my intent to dismiss your symptoms in any way. It would be standard practice for any patient referred with palpitations and and murmur to have a full set of cardiac tests (ECG, Echo and Holter). In the our NHS clinics you would have had these before even seeing the consultant. If I had felt you would benefit from seeing another specialist I would have recommended one. In not doing so I was not intending to appear unkind and I'm sorry if I came across that way. I hope your test results were OK and that your symptoms are better now. With best wishes
