Dr Wael Agur

Dr Wael Agur is a dual-qualified Consultant Urogynaecologist, General Gynaecologist, and Obstetrician, encompassing both elective clinical care and emergency obstetrics and gynaecology. A recognised national expert and mentor in Native Tissue Continence Surgery, he specialises in restorative, non-mesh surgical procedures for pelvic floor disorders and urinary incontinence.

Dr Agur is a prominent expert witness and clinical advisor on pelvic mesh safety and surgical outcomes, having presented expert evidence to the Federal Court of Australia. He has served as a clinician member on the Interventional Procedures Advisory Committee (IPAC) at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

Additionally, Dr Agur has contributed extensively to national healthcare policy across the UK and internationally. His clinical advisory roles include membership on several Scottish Government expert groups—including the Short-Life Working Group, the Expert Group, and the Independent Review Group—as well as serving on the Information Sub-Group of the NHS England Pelvic Mesh Oversight Group.
