Dr Vivek Misra

Dr Vivek Misra is a highly esteemed Oncologist. Dr Misra graduated from JIPMER, Pondicherry, India in 1995, where he was awarded the gold medal for achieving the highest marks amongst his graduating cohort. He pursued postgraduate medical and specialist Clinical Oncology training in the UK, obtaining the MRCP (UK) in 1999 and the FRCR (Oncology) in 2003. Dr Misra is a member of both the Breast and Gastrointestinal disease groups. He also acts as a principal investigator for numerous national and international clinical trials.

Dr Misra's research interests lie in the management of spinal cord compression and the long-term effects of pelvic radiotherapy. He is also dedicated to advancing radiotherapy techniques, including stereotactic body radiotherapy. As the leader of the Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression (MSCC) Group, Dr Misra heads the MSCC service. He was essential in establishing an integrated coordination service, uniting a multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional care for this patient group.

Dr Misra is dedicated to providing optimal care and is actively involved in clinical guidance to ensure the delivery of safe and effective hospital services.
