Dr Chinthapalli earned her medical degree (with merit) from Imperial College London. She then completed her postgraduate training at numerous London teaching hospitals including Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN, Queen Square), and the Royal Free Hospital. She also underwent dermatology training in Europe and the United States.
She has received national awards and scholarships for her outstanding work in dermatology, and she has presented her research abroad.
Dr Chinthapalli has taught at Imperial College London, King's College London, University College London (UCL), and Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry.
