I felt completely at ease with Dr Gupta. I was a little nervous about the gastroscopy procedure but there was no need. I didn’t feel a thing. The report was detailed and he explained the issues and the remedy. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Gupta.

Dr Gupta was very professional and personable in his approach to my clinical case. He displayed excellent bedside manners and as a patient I felt very reassured with his management of my short term illness.

I feel quite emotional at the level of care Dr Gupta gave me before, during and after my procedure. In 42 years and many surgical procedures I have never had such an explanation, patience and understanding. I was so confused and scared prior to the procedures which made me very tentative. I had previously had a colonoscopy at another hospital which hurt so much they had to stop. I then had another under general anaesthetic and it was successful. Dr Gupta performed my Gastroscopy at Shirley Oaks and reassured me on the phone beforehand. I am so grateful for the time he took and diagrams he drew. I'm sure his medical skills were perfect but as a patient it was the experience despite not great news that put me at ease. Thank you to all the staff from reception to pre op and theatre especially Lola and Dr Gupta. I highly recommend Shirley Oaks Hospital and the staff there.

I had a telephone appointment with Dr Gupta. He was thorough with his explanations and even found my MRI on the system to explain my results and phoned me back. He was patient and professional.

As an NHS patient in the midst of the Covid pandemic, I was, ofcourse, appreciative of the speed, efficiency and all-round care given to me at all times within the realms of a PRIVATE hospital, i.e., the Shirley Oaks Hospital in Croydon. Dr. Sanjay Gupta proved himself beyond measure to be at the very pinnacle of professionalism and sheer skill in what must be a most delicate and 'tricky' area of investigative proceedures - the Gastroscopy! It is daunting for a patient, contemplating in advance the method of 'tummy' and esophagus inspection and biopsies: I had 2 such treatments; however, I was made to feel relaxed (through subtle sedation) and was only ever mildly incomfortable. Results, both written and verbal, were meticulous, so that I am clear how best to 'manage' my condition. I hope, when the time comes, Dr. Sanjay Gupta will be at the helm of my surgery and (or) next endoscopy in three years' time. Thank you so much! )

Dr Gupta asked questions, listened to me and clarified before going on to explain options. He spoke to me as an individual and treated me as such rather than making a textbook recommendation.
