About Dr Sameer Zar
Dr Sameer Zar, Consultant Gastroenterologist, is currently working at the Royal Marsden NHS Hospital and within the Epsom and St. Helier NHS Trust. He also sees patients privately in clinics across London including the London Clinic, Cromwell Hospital, and Spire St Anthony's Hospital. He is very experienced in treating cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's and colitis, reflux disease, Barrett's oesophagus, and disorders of the pancreas and liver. He is also very skilled in performing colonoscopy, endoscopy and ERCP, he also offers oesophageal manometry and pH studies.
Dr Zar did his specialist training in gastroenterology and general medicine in the South West Thames Rotation. During this training, he undertook a PhD focusing on food-specific serum antibodies and the effect of food on bowel motility in irritable bowel syndrome. After he was appointed to his current role, he took on several more responsibilities including being the Lead for Upper GI Cancer and running a GI physiology laboratory and hepatitis service for his NHS Trust.
Dr Zar is an active researcher, having published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is also fluent in several languages including English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi. He is happy to do consultants in these other languages when necessary.

Dr Zar and his associate Geraldine Munday were incredibly helpful and responsive. As an American living in London, I was scheduling my first doctors appointment in the UK.
