Dr Rehan Haidry is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist practising at University College Hospital, London, regarded as one of country's leading teaching and research hospitals. His expertise encompasses such areas as general gastroenterology and hepatology, with a particular interest in the management and treatment of acid reflux symptoms and Barrett's Oesophagus (abnormal changes to the cells lining the oesophagus).

In addition to this, Dr Haidry also sees patients suffering with conditions such as diarrhoea, bloating, abdominal pain, as well as those suffering from issues such as irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, andvarious food intolerances.

He initially trained at St Mary's Hospital in London and subsequently completed his gastroenterology training in North East London. Following this, he undertook a 2-year research fellowship at UCLH, examining novel diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic techniques in the upper gastrointestinal tract, which included research into the endoscopic treatment of early stage cancers.

Along with his commitment to clinical practice he has a keen interest in furthering his field of practice through conducting important and high-impact research at locations such as the National Medical Laser Centre,located at the prestigious University College London. His research is targeted at developing novel treatments for conditions called dysplasias (early cancer) associated with Barrett's oesophagus, as well as other pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract. Further to this, he also takes part in the coordination of Europe's largest patient registry, the UK HALO radiofrequency ablation registry, which collects the nationwide outcomes for the use of new interventions in patients with early stage cancer of the oesophagus. He now regularly presents his findings at both local and international conferences.
