Dr Praful Patel

Dr Praful Patel is a highly experienced and the Senior Gastroenterologist with 30 years experience at Southampton University Hospital and the surrounding hospitals. He has trained most of the local Gastroenterologists. He qualified in 1986 and hold memberships with the British Society of Gastroenterology and a Medical Defence Union.

Dr Patel has a special interest in endoscopy and therapies procedures carried out and receives referrals from consultant colleagues having been recognised for his experience in this area with a number of awards. He is dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality of care and is committed to using the latest technology and techniques and has excellent feedback.

He consults patients with both upper and lower gastrointestinal disorders, and performs procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy and oesophageal pH testing.
