Dr Peter Dickinson

This is my own personal experience:- From being warmly greeted by the receptionist I went to radiotherapy for my mask fitting on my first visit. This was quite daunting but I was constantly reassured by the wonderful team. There was kindly efficient Nash and the wonderful Lorenzo who went out of his way to take time to allay my fears and answer all my many questions. This was followed by what felt like a lengthy MRI Scan. I was down for 5 treatments and each time Lorenzo gave me his time to make sure I was ready and felt comfortable. He spoke throughout the treatment to tell me how well it was going … and how well I was doing … and how much time was left. This was so very helpful when wearing a tightly fitted mask and the head is fixed to the table. I could listen to my choice of music which also helped. I honestly felt Lorenzo and his wonderful assistant were very kind, patient and compassionate. I’d also like to add that the Complementary treatments of mindfulness, acupuncture and reflexology given by Katie, Kya and Elizabeth were so very helpful in helping me relax and fixing a sore neck (thanks so much to lovely Kya) A worrying experience made so much more bearable by the exceptional team at Genesis. My heartfelt thanks.

Dr dickinson is an excellent doctor. He always takes time to explain everything in a friendly and approachable manner. You feel listen to and never feel rushed. You don't feel overwhelmed by your diagnosis and feel safe with him and that he will take care of you.

I can't thank Dr Dickinson enough for the support he has given me over a number of years since my diagnosis. His explanation of what I would need to have done at each stage of my treatment really put me at ease. I have managed to have an active and happy few years without feeling any discomfort, or under the weather, and long may this continue into the future however long that may be, and this is all because of the skill and care I have been given by Dr Dickinson, I will be singing his praises well into the years that follow. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the first class treatment, care and support I have received from Dr Dickinson. I honestly cannot put into words how grateful I am for the care I have received from Dr Dickinson he's done the NHS proud. The treatment has been exceptional, and the support, kindness and dedication shown throughout my care. Dr Dickinson has given me first class care throughout and Incredibly supportive and his professionalism is outstanding. I couldn't have wished for a better oncology than Dr Dickinson and I wouldn't have wanted to do my journey with anyone else, I believe I was given the best oncology Dr Dickinson thank you for your first class care and treatment.

Dr Dickinson is always very pleasant, polite and helpful and makes us feel at ease and confident to ask any questions. My treatment has been excellent and Dr Dickinson is very thorough in explaining what will be involved and any effects I may have.

If ever a new patient were to attend this consultants clinic be rest assured that he will take the time to explain everything to you in simple terms, he has an excellent bed side manner, very empathetic and in my opinion, genuinely cares about his patients

Every time I visit Dr Dickinson’s clinic at Pontefract hospital, you get a friendly greeting from all is staff. Dr Dickinson is a friendly, professional oncologist who listens and patiently answers my questions in a manner I can understand. You never feel rushed during the consultation and any issues are resolved in a timely manner.

I had a very pleasant meeting with this doctor. I have seen him many times and have always found him to be very informative and answer any questions I asked and if I wasnt sure about someting he would explain it and reassure me.

Dr Dickinson has always been consistent in his kind, informative approach. He is extremely easy to talk to. He has time and patience whilst explaining things. I never feel rushed.

Since being under the care of Mr Dickinson I have a number of follow up visits to the clinic, each time any issues or concerns I may have had have been answered in full. Visits have always allowed plenty of time with no rush to compete. It is a pleasure to be a patient of Mr Dickinson and feel extremely confident in the care and treatment that I am receiving under his care.
