Dr Murali Sekar is a consultant psychiatrist with extensive experience in treating eating disorders. He works at Priory Hospital Chelmsford and is the Medical Director of the hospital. He takes a biopsychosocial approach to help his patients manage their eating disorders, reflecting the complex nature of these disorders.

Dr Sekar's research interests include the concept of Anorexia Nervosa as an anxiety disorder. He has published research articles and authored a book titled "Symptoms, investigations and treatment in Eating Disorders."

Dr Sekar uses his training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and interpersonal therapy to provide a comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients with eating disorders. He values a collaborative approach and welcomes input from families if the patient agrees.
