About Professor Julian Teare
Professor Teare is a consultant gastroenterologist. He has sessions at The Royal Marsden and St Mary's Hospital Paddington and is also an Emeritus Professor of Gastroenterology at Imperial College London. Professor Teare trained at King's College Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas' and St Mary's, with fellowships in Vancouver, before being appointed a consultant at St Mary's in 1995. Professor Teare was appointed to The Royal Marsden in 2008. Professor Teare is the medical director at One Welbeck and the chairman of the digestive health group.
Professor Teare is an expert in the colonoscopy procedure, allowing a significant proportion of patients to have the procedure without sedation as it can be pain-free.
