About

Dr McAuley practices in the NHS as a Consultant Neurologist at King George
Hospital, Ilford, and Queens Hospital, Romford, and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer
at Queen Mary University of London. He has private practices at Spire London East, Wanstead and The Holly Private Hospital, Buckhurst Hill.

He has a research interest in motor control and in movement disorders and has published research papers that have received well over 1000 citations.

Botulinum toxin injection for dystonia

Dr McAuley sees patients with all neurological
conditions and has specialist interests in i) Parkinson's disease, tremor and
other movement disorders, ii) vertigo, iii) headache, iv) stroke and v)
neurostimulation for movement disorders, chronic pain and epilepsy. He has an
electrophysiological research laboratory where he investigates motor control
and the pathophysiology of movement disorders.

Qualifications

After qualifying in 1989 at Cambridge University and working
on a Medical Rotation at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Dr McAuley undertook specialist training in Neurology on the North Thames Rotation and at the National
Hospital, Queen Square, where he was awarded the Ralph Noble Prize for his MD
thesis. He took up his Consultant Post in 2001 and was subsequently elected
FRCP in 2004.
