Mr Etienne Horner

I have had a few gynaecologists before and never been fully satisfied with their level of care and attention. Dr Horner is hugely knowledgeable in his area and very precise and meticulous in the process of diagnosing his patients and finding the right approach to healing them. But what’s different with him is his discretion, combined with the fact that he is very much patient-led. He listens carefully to the patient’s needs and preferences and builds the right approach for them. I was finding the transition to menopause very challenging and the way he helped me through it was spot on and very supportive.

I was under Mr Horner’s care from 30 weeks and he delivered my breech position baby via C-section. I had chosen Étienne based on recommendations from friends who had babies under his care and I could not be happier with my choice. Some complications arose during my third trimester and at all times he took all of my concerns seriously. He listened to and answered all questions carefully. He gave us reassurance when we needed it and took steps to ensure issues were adequately investigated rapidly. He was direct and clear in his communication but also very kind — he didn't sugar-coat things, but he always did it kindly, and I'm grateful for it, as it helped me be more clear-headed when my anxiety got the better of me. He was incredibly impressive during the surgery itself and brought a degree of appropriate levity to the situation when things felt a bit scary. His post-birth care was excellent and he takes an holistic approach to wellbeing and recovery for a mother. I feel very lucky to have been cared for by Étienne, who clearly has a great depth of experience and skill, and I wish everyone could have him involved in their pregnancy/birth.

I fully trusted him, my experience couldn’t have been more positive. I’m recovering beautifully and my baby girl is perfect.
