Ms Deborah Boyle

Ms Deborah Boyle is a highly respected Consultant Gynaecologist with more than 30 years  experience, specialising in vulval disease, colposcopy, sexual pain and the treatment of PMS and PMDD. She also specialises in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology and treats problems relating to vulval skin and pain as well as period and hormonal issues. Adolescent patients may also wish to discuss contraception, painful sex or other concerns about their genital area. She sees childen of all ages including those under the age of 13 who are seen in a dedicated paediatric clinic. 

Deborah also sees patients who have more general gynaecological concerns or would like to discuss screening as well as those patients who are experiencing perimenopause and menopause and would like to optimise their wellbeing. 

Increasingly, Deborah sees patients with more complex medical backgrounds, particularly hypermobility, neurodivergence, inflammatory disorders, pain and fatigue and who also have gynaecological issues as part of the picture. 

Deborah provides a comprehensive service regarding contraception including coil fitting (as well as coil fitting as part of management of other gynae issues). She is a registered colposcopist providing diagnostic and treatment procedures for cervical abnormalities. 

NHS Posts 

Deborah's main NHS consultant role is at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, where she is senior clinician in both the vulval service and colposcopy. She will be joining the NHS Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology Team at UCLH in Spetember 2026.

Paediatric:  The Portland Hospital Children's Outpatient department (under 13s)  Adolescents can be seen either at the paediatric clinic or in main outpatient department at the Portland.

Remote: Video and telephone consults can also be arranged 

With particular expertise in the management of vulval conditions in adults and children, Deborah sees both patient groups with vulval skin disorders (such as lichen sclerosus, lichen planus), vulval manifesations of systemic disease such as Crohn's disease and vulval pain conditions. 

Her clinical practice embraces a holistic and compassionate approach, recognising the importance of considering the whole person and their individual circumstances in medical care. She works in an evidenced based way and works closely with colleagues in specialist physiotherapy services and other disciplines to ensure that her patients get the joined up care that they need and best outcomes in terms of relief of symptoms and functional recovery.
