Dr Christopher Kelsey

Dr Christopher Kelsey is a Consultant Rheumatologist working at Spire Hartswood and Spire London East private hospitals. He was first appointed Consultant in 1994 and he worked at Queen's Hospital in Romford as both Consultant and Clinical Director of musculoskeletal services until 2011. He now works only as a private consultant with specialist interests in Rheumatoid Arthritis, osteoporosis, Lupus, Paget's disease and connective tissue disorders.

Dr Kelsey qualified in 1975 in Medicine from the University of London, before completing his training at St Andrew's University and Guy's Hospital. Furthermore, he has worked as a Senior Registrar in the Oxford region and completed an MSc in Immunology from Imperial College London.

Whilst working for the NHS, he established and developed a whole range services including patient-centred clinics for SLE and osteoporosis, telephone clinics and a kyphoplasty clinic. He has also been involved in national guidelines and quality and outcome measures in rheumatology treatments.
