Dr Bela Vadodaria is a consultant anaesthetist at Hillingdon hospital with a special interest in the management of chronic pain. Dr Vadodaria believes in a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach to treatment, using a patient-specific ethos. She uses both interventional and non-interventional techniques. She combines medicine, acupuncture, TENS, physiotherapy and low-level laser therapy with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques in order to ensure the best approach. She offers a wide variety of treatments to patients dependent on the condition, including nerve blocks and botox for headache, steroid injection and selective nerve root block for whiplash and neck/arm/shoulder pain.
Dr Vadodaria obtained her medical qualification in Mumbai in 1985 and underwent training in Anaesthesia in India. In 1996, she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Anaesthetists of Ireland. It was during her specialist training as an Anesthetist that Dr Vadodaria developed a particular interest in the management of patients with chronic pain.
Her academic research interests include management of post-operative pain and the management of chronic pain. She has had research published on the topic of pain management in the peer-reviewed literature.
