About Dr Oliver Seyfried
Dr Oliver Seyfried is a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of acute and chronic pain. His NHS and private practice focuses on comprehensive and holistic pain management, providing tailored, non-surgical treatment for a wide range of complex pain conditions.
He qualified from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in 1999 and completed his anaesthetic training at St Bartholomew’s, The Royal London and St Thomas’ Hospitals. He subsequently undertook specialist training in Pain Medicine at St Thomas’, King’s College and St George’s Hospitals. In 2013, he was awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists by examination.
Dr Seyfried was appointed Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at St George’s Hospital in 2013, where he now serves as Departmental Lead. He has published in peer-reviewed pain medicine literature and has received recognition from the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists for his academic contributions.
Throughout his training and clinical practice, he has developed particular expertise in the biopsychosocial management of complex pain conditions, recognising the interplay between physical, psychological and social factors in persistent pain. He has extensive experience managing degenerative spinal and joint pain, and has a special interest in neuropathic pain affecting the arms and legs, as well as osteoarthritic knee pain where surgical options are limited or unsuitable.
