Mr Azhar Shaida

Mr Azhar Shaida, Consultant ENT Surgeon, currently works within the University College Hospital NHS Trust where he treats both adults and paediatric patients. He is highly specialised in the treatment of a wide range of ENT complaints, with a special interest in Ear Surgery and Auditory implants. Additionally, he has a keen interest in rhinology and sinus disease.

Mr Shaida began his medical education at the University of Cambridge, where he graduated in 1984, he moved to the University of Oxford to complete his clinical training graduating in 1990. He then went on to do specialist training in surgery throughout England, training in Oxford, London and Cambridge. He then went on to specialise in ENT surgery, developing his skills in the East Anglia rotation in Cambridge, Norwich, and Ipswich. Following this, he was awarded several fellowships, one of which during his East Anglia rotation, and another from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He also undertook a research degree focusing on metalloproteinases in rhinitis, which resulted in him being awarded an MD for his efforts.

Mr Shaida remains an active researcher with a very significant publication history. He is often invited to present his findings at conferences around the globe and has been appointed as an assistant editor of the Journal of Laryngology and Otology.
