I appreciate Dr Qasim's straightforward and plain English communication about what is going on and the findings of the test results which were consistent with his initial assessment.
Great care by Dr Qasim, as always over the years, discussion to the point, clear explanation and advice, quick follow up and great responsiveness. Very grateful for helping me navigate a complex situation and finding the best solution to in fact regain the pre-condition quality of life! Top marks.
Attentive, responsive and very clear, pro-active in his explanations of process and outcome.
Dr Qasim and his team made all the arrangements for me to be able to see him as soon as possible and arranged all the testing needed
Very thorough diagnostics and advice, very well selected and prescribed medication. Thank you!
Approximately one year ago I experienced a sudden increase/spike in my heart rate when exercising on the rowing machine. My usual heart rate for a steady state training session was between 130 and 145 BPM. This time it suddenly spiked up to about 180 to 190+ bpm, and it would not come down quickly enough. I am quite fit for my age and never had such issues before. As this had never happened before, I did get in touch with my GP and eventually I had a 24hr Holter monitor fitted. The results did not reveal anything that was out of ordinary. But, a month later, I was at an indoor rowing competition, when my heart rate suddenly jumped to 226 bpm and I also experienced headaches. I then decided to use my wife's BUPA family health insurance and I had my 1st appointment with Dr Qasim in July 2025, at Cromwell Hospital. What struck me was his friendly and professional manner. He asked numerous questions about my lifestyle, my past or existing health issues, if any, and the sport I am involved in, rowing. He listened very carefully, patiently and sympathetically to all my concerns I had regarding my symptoms. He was also very reassuring, and I left the appointment feeling a lot more optimistic. Dr Qasim booked several thorough tests and, following the test results, I am now on medication that controls the atrial fibrillation symptoms. I have regained confidence in training harder, and I am now able to race without worrying. I also have regained the confidence that I am not going to have a sudden heart attack or a stroke! As it happens, very soon, I have an appointment with Dr Qa...
