Dr Anand Mehta

Dr Anand Mehta has been a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine at Croydon University Hospital for over 20 years. After graduating from Bombay University in 1983 he moved to the UK and trained in Liverpool, Hammersmith Hospital and St George's Hospital in London. He gained expertise in Geriatric Medicine, Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine.

Whilst at St George's Hospital, he was a research fellow for the British Heart and British Digestive Foundations which stimulated his interest in both general medicine and gastroenterology. Dr Mehta is also passionate about conditions which are more relevant for elderly patients such as Parkinson's and Dementia. In addition to managing acute and chronic medical conditions in the older patients he runs a comprehensive movement disorder clinic in his NHS practice at Croydon University Hospital.

Dr Mehta maintains a holistic management approach in dealing with patients and specialises in dealing with multiple and complex clinical conditions that an elderly person may present with. He uses Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment methods to address the physical and mental health problems often found in older patients. Dr Mehta remains dedicated to improving all aspects of his patients' lives.
