Dr Abbasi Chittalia

Dr Abbas Chittalia is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist currently working within the Christie Hospital, he also sees patients privately within the Christie Private care and The Alexandra Hospital. He is highly specialised in the treatment and diagnosis of early and advanced-stage breast cancer. He can provide chemotherapy, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy, and individually targeted therapies.

Dr Chittalia began his medical education in India, completing both his undergraduate and postgraduate training. He then later moved to the UK in 1999, where he undertook specialist training in clinical oncology at The Christie Hospital in 2001. Following this, he was appointed to his current position in 2006 and became a member of the Disease Orientated Group for breast cancer. He was instrumental in the development of the chemotherapy unit within Stockport Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He continues to contribute his medical expertise to the Multidisciplinary team at Nightingale Breast cancer Unit within the Wythenshawe hospital.

Dr Chittalia is an active researcher, holding the position of Principal Investigator for a high-profile Metformin trial as well as High Radiotherapy trials. He continues to contribute back to medical education by regularly lecturing students and registrars within his NHS Trust. He is a regular attendee to conferences in his field, ensuring he is up-to-date with the current advancements in his cancer field. He has previously held the post of Trust lead for Middle-Grade doctors.
