Dr Diana Clayton

She qualified from Vilnius University in 1992 and completed postgraduate training
in General Medicine and Endocrinology at University Hospital, Vilnius,
Lithuania in 1998. She obtained PhD from Vilnius University with distinction
in 2002. She moved to UK and was appointed to Consultant Physician
&Endocrinologist in 2004, having spent 2 yrs. in research at Keele
University, Staffs. She was awarded FRCP London in 2010 as result of
excellent teaching &training of junior doctors and undergraduate
students. Since moving to Plymouth in
2015 she was involved in developing services for diabetes (joint foot
clinic), as well as general diabetes. She has broad experience in all aspects
of Endocrinology including thyroid disease, metabolic bone disease, male and
female reproductive endocrinology, adrenal dysfunction, and endocrine aspects
of obesity including post weight loss surgery. She has developed a
‘transition' endocrine clinic with paediatrician for children progressing to
adulthood. She is a member of Diabetes and neuroendocrine MDT's, and provides
regular advice to diabetes specialist nurses and endocrine nurses. She has a
broad experience in acute general internal medicine from regular work on
Short Stay ward she is a clinical lead and involvement in the ‘acute take' at
Derriford Hospital.
