Dr Horne was extremely personable from the moment I entered the room. He explained the reason and purpose for the consultation and what we would be discussing. Dr. Horne outlined procedures, expectations and possible outcomes eloquently along with options for further investigation and ongoing treatment. I couldn't be happier with care I have received thus far and feel confident and comfortable under his charge.

My GP referred me to an Endocrinologist for an opinion of my symptoms. We chose the Consultant doctor who had the soonest appointment available in our area. Dr Horne is a young Endocrinologist who was personable on meeting and communicated clearly the tests that I should undergo to determine a diagnosis. Most important, he picked up on a comment about my feeling breathless by recommending a test for cardiovascular disease, although this was not his specialty. The result of this test revealed that I needed an emergency heart operation to install a pacemaker. I was kept overnight and received the pacemaker surgery the next day. It was amazing that this was discovered just before it became a crisis. I am so grateful to Dr Horne and the Cardiac team at Salisbury District Hospital. When he had the test results for the original symptoms, Dr Horne also confirmed the endocrinology diagnosis. I recommend Dr Horne without reservation, as a thoroughly Professional and Caring Consultant, who through active listening heard and clear communication explained a path for my medical investigation. His thoroughness picked up on a symptom (breathlessness) that I had explained away as unfitness, or other things. Ready to credit the Cardiac Team for their not insignificant part in my emergency treatment, I would add collaboration with a good dollop of humility to Dr Horne’s attributes. Professional at all times, I felt that he was on my side all the way.

I am so grateful that I got to see Dr Horne today. He listened to what I had been going through and was so helpful and understanding. It was such a relief to finally feel heard and gave me hope that I may be able to get to the bottom of what is going on with my various health conditions. He was very open, honest and proactive.
