Miss Despina Mavridou was very warm and approachable. She explained everything to me in a way I could understand.

Going into my laparoscopy, hysteroscopy (to investigate endometriosis), I was honestly really nervous. But my surgeon made such a difference. She took the time to properly explain everything that was happening, both before and after the procedure, and talked me through my fertility options and what the future might look like too. She was so kind and reassuring, and it genuinely helped calm my nerves. If you're feeling anxious about a similar surgery, I hope you get a surgeon who makes you feel as looked after as she made me feel.

It was a pleasure particularly sensitive appointment for me and Dr Mavridou made me feel as comfortable as possible. It really means a lot to be treated like a human and not a number when things are so sensitive.

Miss Mavridou and the team were extremely caring and helpful. The set up for my procedure was carried out efficiently and professionally. I would not hesitate to come back for future treatment by this team.

I came for an urgent scan after being let down by the NHS. It was such a world of difference and I felt really at ease and in good hands. I then had an outpatient hysteroscopy which was arranged at short notice. It all went very smoothly and Miss Mavridou was very good at communicating and making sure I was OK during the process. Such a relief to have found Miss Mavridou and grateful for the kindness and good care. Highly recommend.

Miss Mavridou's consultation was very patient friendly - for the first time I really felt listened to. She explained things well, I felt she was looking at my issue in a holistic way not just tackling the problem in isolation. Her expertise and keeping up to date with menopause research became apparent as we spoke. I was not rushed or pressured into anything and she had a caring nature. However, my experience was poor before I got to see Miss Mavridou. I arrived 45mins early, and after check in was not called for my appointment. After 20 mins after my due time, I asked about the delay and the reception did not seem to know where my consultant was. They called her and she was in an upstairs clinic, and another patient with dementia had apparently came when she called my name and the resulting confusion led to my husband being telephoned which led to his day being ruined somewhat as he thought I was in an emergency. I was finally seen an 1hr 40m after my original time. Admin apologised but it turned the whole day (I had to travel 1.5hrs to get there) into an exhausting experience.

We came to visit miss mavridou after first coming to see her with fertility issues. She did surgery to remove my endometriosis last year and today we came to see her and we are 18 weeks pregnant, I couldn’t be more grateful to her for changing our lives.
