Mr Denosshan Sri graduated from the University of Cambridge with double first-class honours and completed his subspecialty urological training in South West London. He subsequently undertook a highly competitive fellowship in robotic kidney cancer surgery at Frimley Park Hospital before being appointed Consultant Urologist at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (2021) & Kingston Hospital (2024) — St George's being one of London's largest trauma and tertiary referral centres.
Mr Sri's practice focuses on robotic kidney and prostate cancer surgery, specifically nerve sparing robotic assisted radical prostatectomy and robotic assisted partial nephrectomy. He is among a select group of surgeons in Europe specialising in robotic retroperitoneal partial nephrectomy — a nephron-sparing technique he introduced to South West London and which is now established as the standard of care for kidney cancer in the region. He performs this approach as his default technique for kidney cancer, including the most complex, high-RENAL score tumours. Patients typically spend just one night in hospital and return to normal activity within two to four weeks.
He holds six concurrent NHS leadership positions across St George's and the wider South West London urology network: Kidney Cancer Lead for the South West London Referral Network, Cancer Lead for Urology, Robotic Steering Group Lead, RCS and BAUS-accredited Robotic Fellowship Lead, Urological Trauma Lead at St George's, and Urology Robotic Lead at Kingston Hospital.
Mr Sri's robotic practice also encompasses nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer, with excellent continence rates, and complex reconstructive procedures for upper tract and pelvic pathology. He remains committed to nephron-sparing surgery even in challenging kidney cancer cases, prioritising preservation of renal function alongside excellent oncological control. He accepts tertiary referrals for complex kidney and prostate cancer from across the UK.
In addition to his cancer practice, Mr Sri manages a broad range of general urological conditions in both men and women. He has a particular interest in benign prostate enlargement and offers modern, minimally invasive, ejaculatory-preserving day-case treatments including Rezum water vapour therapy, Aquablation, GreenLight laser prostatectomy, and TURP. He also provides robotic solutions for benign conditions including urinary incontinence, ureteric obstruction and strictures, and complex reconstructive pelvic and upper tract pathology.
As a high-volume robotic surgeon, Mr Sri performs over 200 robot-assisted procedures annually. His total robotic caseload across training, fellowship, and consultant practice now exceeds 1,500 upper tract and pelvic procedures — one of the largest personal series in the UK.
As Robotic Fellowship Lead at St George's, Mr Sri trains the next generation of robotic urological surgeons through the RCS and BAUS-accredited fellowship programme — the only such programme in South West London. He is Principal Investigator on two active randomised controlled trials: the ELLIPSE trial, examining robotic prostatectomy with and without pelvic lymph node dissection in high-risk prostate cancer, and the PARTIAL trial, comparing robotic partial versus radical nephrectomy for high-risk renal tumours. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer and robotic reconstruction, contributed to surgical textbook chapters, and teaches regularly at national and international conferences including the BAUS FRCS Urology Course.
Mr Sri offers a complete diagnostic and treatment pathway — from initial assessment through to robotic surgery, MDT review, and specialist follow-up — for kidney cancer, prostate cancer, haematuria, raised PSA, urinary tract infections, incontinence, lower urinary tract symptoms, and benign scrotal and inguinal conditions including vasectomy.

Always lovely to catch up with Mr Sri. At my follow up visit and I remain free of cancer.
Very knowledgeable. Took the time to listen and put me at ease
Dr. Denosshan Sri and his team are absolutely excellent. I could not be happier with the care I received. Surgery was done the very same day, and I was able to return home afterwards. They looked after me so well at every step. Amazingly, I have felt almost no pain at all afterwards — I haven’t needed to take any painkillers or paracetamol whatsoever. The wounds are healing perfectly and exactly as they should. Thank you so much to you and the whole team.
Mr Denosshan Sri and his team did a great job of looking after me on the day of the operation. I felt well cared for and safe in their hands. The operation itself went well and I have had a good recovery.
I feel blessed to have been taken under the care of Mr Sri and his team following my prostate cancer diagnosis. Mr Sri gave me the options for my treatment and explained the differences in a very clear and informative way .I decided on a radical prostatectomy. I could not have had a better surgeon, Mr Sri was able to spare both nerve bundles and my recovery post surgery was beyond my expectations. I was completely dry from day one and six weeks on from my surgery I am pretty much back to my normal routine. All thanks to Mr Sri and his amazing skill as a surgeon- I will be forever grateful.
Mr Sri called me promptly and was friendly but professional and efficient throughout.
Friendly and helpful and supportive. Done a great job on removing the cancer.
This was a virtual meeting which was conducted with care and thoughtfulness by Mr Sri. I have been very happy with my treatment with him.
Dr. Sri performed a retroperitoneal robotic partial nephrectomy for my stage 1 kidney cancer with great skill. He was calm and reassuring throughout, and took the time to patiently answer my many questions about both the diagnosis and the procedure. He was consistently approachable and friendly, making a stressful experience much easier to navigate. The post-operative care was excellent as well. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon.
I cannot thank Dr. Sri and his team enough for the exceptional care and skill they showed throughout my prostate cancer treatment. From the first consultation to my surgery and follow-up, dr Sr was professional, compassionate, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which gave me confidence during a very difficult time. The operation went extremely well, and I am grateful for the excellent outcome. His expertise and attention to detail made a huge difference, and I always felt I was in the best possible hands. I would highly recommend Dr. Sri to anyone facing prostate cancer. Thank you for your outstanding care and for making such a positive difference to my life.
A lovely colleague and a hardworking doctor - you will be well looked after!

Around one in eight men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, making it currently the most common cancer diagnosis in the UK. In most cases, prostate cancer is a slow-growing cancer and can be effectively treated with surgery. Using technological advancements to perform surgery, including innovations such as da Vinci® surgical systems, mean that functional and cancer outcomes for prostate cancer surgery have significantly improved over the last decade. Here, we will take a closer look at prostate cancer, its treatment and outcomes.
