Mr Denosshan Sri graduated from the University of Cambridge with double first-class honours and completed his subspecialty urological training in South West London. He subsequently undertook a highly competitive fellowship in robotic kidney cancer surgery at Frimley Park Hospital before being appointed Consultant Urologist at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (2021) & Kingston Hospital (2024) — St George's being one of London's largest trauma and tertiary referral centres.
Mr Sri's practice focuses on robotic kidney and prostate cancer surgery, specifically nerve sparing robotic assisted radical prostatectomy and robotic assisted partial nephrectomy. He is among a select group of surgeons in Europe specialising in robotic retroperitoneal partial nephrectomy — a nephron-sparing technique he introduced to South West London and which is now established as the standard of care for kidney cancer in the region. He performs this approach as his default technique for kidney cancer, including the most complex, high-RENAL score tumours. Patients typically spend just one night in hospital and return to normal activity within two to four weeks.
He holds six concurrent NHS leadership positions across St George's and the wider South West London urology network: Kidney Cancer Lead for the South West London Referral Network, Cancer Lead for Urology, Robotic Steering Group Lead, RCS and BAUS-accredited Robotic Fellowship Lead, Urological Trauma Lead at St George's, and Urology Robotic Lead at Kingston Hospital.
Mr Sri's robotic practice also encompasses nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer, with excellent continence rates, and complex reconstructive procedures for upper tract and pelvic pathology. He remains committed to nephron-sparing surgery even in challenging kidney cancer cases, prioritising preservation of renal function alongside excellent oncological control. He accepts tertiary referrals for complex kidney and prostate cancer from across the UK.
In addition to his cancer practice, Mr Sri manages a broad range of general urological conditions in both men and women. He has a particular interest in benign prostate enlargement and offers modern, minimally invasive, ejaculatory-preserving day-case treatments including Rezum water vapour therapy, Aquablation, GreenLight laser prostatectomy, and TURP. He also provides robotic solutions for benign conditions including urinary incontinence, ureteric obstruction and strictures, and complex reconstructive pelvic and upper tract pathology.
As a high-volume robotic surgeon, Mr Sri performs over 200 robot-assisted procedures annually. His total robotic caseload across training, fellowship, and consultant practice now exceeds 1,500 upper tract and pelvic procedures — one of the largest personal series in the UK.
As Robotic Fellowship Lead at St George's, Mr Sri trains the next generation of robotic urological surgeons through the RCS and BAUS-accredited fellowship programme — the only such programme in South West London. He is Principal Investigator on two active randomised controlled trials: the ELLIPSE trial, examining robotic prostatectomy with and without pelvic lymph node dissection in high-risk prostate cancer, and the PARTIAL trial, comparing robotic partial versus radical nephrectomy for high-risk renal tumours. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer and robotic reconstruction, contributed to surgical textbook chapters, and teaches regularly at national and international conferences including the BAUS FRCS Urology Course.
Mr Sri offers a complete diagnostic and treatment pathway — from initial assessment through to robotic surgery, MDT review, and specialist follow-up — for kidney cancer, prostate cancer, haematuria, raised PSA, urinary tract infections, incontinence, lower urinary tract symptoms, and benign scrotal and inguinal conditions including vasectomy.

Our appointment with Mr Sri was truly reassuring. He took the time to explain everything clearly and thoughtfully, sharing helpful details that put our minds at ease. He arranged an excellent referral to a leading paediatric specialist surgeon, ensuring our son receives the very best care. Mr Sri is exceptionally professional, kind, and attentive throughout. We are so grateful for his guidance and would wholeheartedly recommend him to any family.
Mr. Sri is a shinning example for the NHS. We need many more like him and the CNS(SOphia) who worked side-by-side with him. I find him to be caring, compassionate and really very interested in his patients. Another very outstanding quality in him is that he listens. A diminishing quality in today's modern practitioners. I am very very fortunate and eternally grateful to have been in his care.
A diagnosis of kidney cancer is a daunting prospect and knocked me back. Mr Sri managed to help me navigate through this difficult time and managed to preserve my kidney. I have made a full recovery and I am grateful to his expertise.
No concerns at all. Very happy with my surgery and outcome. Highly recommend this chap
Had my follow up after robotoc surgery for prostate cancer. Received amazing news and my recovery is going extemely well. Grateful to Mr Sri and the team for their expertise and skill
My recent visit was a very happy occasion. Mr Sri was very well prepared provided the answers to all my my questions before I asked them.
Dr Sri was an incredibly down to earth expert in fixing people - he saved my life - plain and simple. I would not recommend becoming unwell - but if you were to do so - go see this chap!!!
Very relaxing manner giving me plenty of time to explain how my experience had been and how I was feeling. He clearly explained everything I needed to know about my treatment and analysis of my tumour. All very encouraging news. A lovely professional man who could not have treated me any better. My sincere thanks to Mr Sri and all the medical staff involved in my treatment for the last two and a half years .
Recently had a prostatectomy. Outstanding care throughout from the team led by Mr Sri. All appointments were to time and the procedure was fully explained throughout. What an outstanding team of talented and caring people. The results of the operation exceeded my expectations. Thanks to all involved.
From my 1st referral Dr Sri has been outstanding on so many levels. Honest & clear about my diagnosis, risk versus reward for the various treatment options, likely side effects and potential long term recovery outlook. Dr Sri and the whole team supported and guided us so that we could be confident of our choice and location for my prostate cancer treatment. He combines clear facts with warm mannerisms. My post op recovery has been much faster than we first expected. I put that down to outstanding surgery and care, pre and post op by the whole of the Urology team at Kingston and St George’s Hospitals. We remain very grateful. Mr & Mrs H

Around one in eight men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, making it currently the most common cancer diagnosis in the UK. In most cases, prostate cancer is a slow-growing cancer and can be effectively treated with surgery. Using technological advancements to perform surgery, including innovations such as da Vinci® surgical systems, mean that functional and cancer outcomes for prostate cancer surgery have significantly improved over the last decade. Here, we will take a closer look at prostate cancer, its treatment and outcomes.
