Dr David Wald

Dr David Wald is a dedicated Consultant Cardiologist who specialises in both interventional and preventive cardiology. Focusing on comprehensive heart care, he works closely with patients to assess, manage, and treat a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. His clinical approach seamlessly blends advanced catheter-based treatments with proactive strategies to reduce long-term cardiovascular risk, ensuring that every patient receives individualised, high-quality care.

His areas of clinical expertise include the management of coronary artery disease, angina, acute coronary syndromes, and ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Dr Wald regularly performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, such as coronary angiography, angioplasty (percutaneous coronary intervention), and pacemaker implantation. He is also deeply involved in preventive cardiology, offering specialised screening and treatment for individuals at elevated risk, including those with conditions such as familial hypercholesterolaemia. In addition, he has led innovative initiatives to enhance patient understanding and consent prior to undergoing cardiac procedures.

Dr Wald completed his early medical studies at Oxford University in 1990 before obtaining his medical degree from St Mary's Hospital Medical School, London, in 1993. He pursued advanced research leading to a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2004, focusing his doctoral thesis on serum homocysteine, folic acid, and cardiovascular disease. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), demonstrating his ongoing dedication to excellence in cardiology practice and patient welfare.
