About Dr Anoop Shetty
Dr Anoop Shetty is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist specialising in complex electrophysiology and complex device implantation. He works within The Cardiac Clinic team based at London Bridge Hospital.
Dr Shetty trained in London and Australia. He has obtained international accreditation in electrophysiology (CEPS) and implantable cardiac devices (CCDS) from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE).
He works as a Consultant Cardiologist for Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and he has been an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London since 2016. He has extensive research experience and has published widely in international medical literature. He is also an invited peer reviewer for a number of well-regarded scientific journals including: Circulation, Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, JACC Clinical Electrophysiology, The American Journal of Cardiology, Heart, Europace, PACE and BMJ Case Reports. In his clinic there was plenty of time to discuss and ask questions about atrial fibrillation, the need for blood thinning medication and the potential benefits and risks associated with ablation surgery. You can expect to wear a heart monitor for a few days with a review of the findings. In my case an additional problem of heart block was identified requiring the surgical insertion of a pacemaker. Whilst in hospital in your own room every member of staff did their job in a very professional, reassuring and friendly manner. Follow-up was equally as thorough ensuring no questions remained unanswered.
I find myself very lucky for having the opportunity to be treated by Dr Shetty , who showed great professionalism, extreme kindness and understanding. In addition Dr Shetty gave me invaluable advice concerning various medical issues.
A follow up consultation with Dr Shetty standing in for previous consultant currently on a sabbatical. He was friendly, interested and willing to discuss my issues. A very satisfying consultation.
I made the appointment to specifically arrange the date for a procedure to insert a replacement pacemaker, and got the answer just as hoped for
I arrived for my consultation with Dr Shetty with worry and apprehension about a possible heart abnormality. Dr Shetty immediately put me at ease and arranged a series of tests. In the initial consultation Dr Shetty was a good listener and in assessing the test results he not only addressed my initial concern, but also discussed broader health results and a path forward. I would instantly recommend him to friends and family seeking cardiac expertise.
Very approachable and professional. Dr Shetty explained everything clearly and followed up his reports and assessments in timely manner. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Dr Shetty implanted an S-ICD for me. Throughout the whole process I appreciated his calm and professional approach.
