Dr David Grant

Dr David Grant is a highly skilled Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care who is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate clinical care for infants, children, and young people. Specialising in paediatric critical care, Dr Grant provides comprehensive assessment and management for young patients experiencing complex or life-threatening medical conditions. His practice is rooted in a reassuring, family-centred approach that prioritises both the physical well-being of the patient and clear, empathetic communication with parents and carers during difficult times.

Dr Grant earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Stellenbosch. He subsequently completed comprehensive post-graduate clinical training in General Paediatrics in both South Africa and the United Kingdom, before pursuing specialist fellowship training in Paediatric Intensive Care across the United Kingdom and Australia. He is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and a Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FFICM).

Throughout his clinical career, Dr Grant has developed specialised clinical interests in paediatric cardiac intensive care, renal support, fluid and electrolyte management, and paediatric resuscitation. In addition to his direct patient care, he has a strong professional focus on simulation-based medical education, human factors, and interprofessional team training, all designed to optimise patient safety and elevate standards of acute paediatric care.
