Dr David Ferguson

Dr David Ferguson is an experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in paediatric orthopaedics, major trauma, and limb reconstruction for adult and paediatric patients. He provides compassionate and comprehensive care to patients suffering from a wide spectrum of acute traumatic injuries, congenital skeletal deformities, and complex bone disorders. Dr Ferguson is committed to achieving optimal functional outcomes by applying modern surgical techniques and innovative healthcare technologies tailored to each individual patient's needs.

Dr Ferguson earned his Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in 2004 and his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) in 2005 from the University of Leeds. Following extensive specialist surgical training, he gained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics, FRCS (Tr & Orth), in 2014. He subsequently completed a dedicated sub-speciality fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Limb Reconstruction at Sheffield Children's Hospital. Additionally, Dr Ferguson serves as an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor and contributes actively to medical research, surgical education, and digital healthcare innovation.

In his clinical practice, Dr Ferguson manages a broad spectrum of paediatric and adult musculoskeletal conditions. His expertise includes the treatment of hip dysplasia, Perthes disease, slipped upper femoral epiphysis, cerebral palsy, metabolic bone disorders, and rare genetic conditions such as osteogenesis imperfecta. He frequently performs complex deformity correction and limb reconstruction using circular frames and limb-lengthening nails, alongside specialised treatments for fracture non-union, bone infections, and severe traumatic injuries.
