Dr. David Crabtree

Dr David Crabtree is a Consultant in Pain Management with over eight years of specialist experience focusing on spinal, knee, and shoulder pain conditions. His practice combines NHS and private work, with an emphasis on interventional, minimally invasive techniques for chronic pain relief.

He has developed particular expertise in ultrasound-guided injection therapies, including genicular nerve procedures for knee pain and suprascapular nerve blocks for shoulder pain. He also performs radiofrequency denervation of cervical and lumbar facet joints for chronic spinal pain.

His clinical portfolio includes more than 200 genicular nerve procedures, over 100 suprascapular nerve interventions, and in excess of 300 lumbar and cervical facet joint radiofrequency procedures. These techniques are commonly used for patients with osteoarthritis-related knee pain, shoulder pain not suitable for surgery, and facet-mediated spinal pain in the neck or lower back.

Alongside his interventional work, he serves as Clinical Lead for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust Pain Management services. He also holds leadership roles within the same trust, including Departmental Chair for Anaesthetics and Anaesthetic Sustainability Lead.

His approach is patient-centred and evidence-based, focusing on improving function, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life through tailored treatment plans and modern image-guided procedures.
