Dr. Darren Ting

Dr. Darren Ting is a highly qualified Consultant Ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for a wide range of eye conditions. Dedicated to delivering optimal visual outcomes and enhancing patient quality of life, Dr. Ting combines clinical excellence with advanced surgical skills. His compassionate and reassuring approach ensures that patients feel fully informed, comfortable, and supported throughout every stage of their care journey.

In his clinical practice, Dr. Ting specialises in the diagnosis and management of complex corneal and ocular surface diseases, high-volume cataract surgery, and laser refractive procedures. He performs a wide array of advanced treatments, including corneal transplantation, pterygium removal, corneal cross-linking, and specialised management for corneal infections and keratoconus. Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Ting actively leads scientific research into novel eye therapies and digital health innovations, bringing the latest evidence-based techniques directly to patient care.

Dr. Ting earned his medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Edinburgh in 2009. He completed his Specialist Training in Ophthalmology in 2018, later obtaining a PhD in Ophthalmology from the University of Nottingham in 2021 and a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Profession Education from Keele University. He also earned the Certificate in Laser Refractive Surgery from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2023. Dr. Ting is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) and maintains active memberships with the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the UK and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Cornea Society, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
