Dr Colin Bruce

Dr Colin Bruce is a highly regarded Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in paediatric orthopaedic and spinal care. With a dedicated focus on treating complex spinal disorders in children, he provides compassionate, patient-centred care to help young patients overcome mobility challenges and spinal deformities. His clinical practice is characterised by a reassuring and meticulous approach, ensuring that children and their families feel supported throughout every stage of their treatment journey.

Dr Bruce completed his medical degree at the University of Liverpool, qualifying in 1985. He subsequently obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1987, before undertaking extensive specialist training on the Liverpool orthopaedic training circuit. To further refine his expertise in children's orthopaedics, he completed prestigious international placements, including studying at leading medical institutions in Massachusetts and Connecticut in the United States. He completed his advanced training as the National Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellow in Stanmore, London, and was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Bruce is a prominent figure in the wider orthopaedic community. He is a past President of the British Society for Children's Orthopaedic Surgery and was instrumental in founding and maintaining the North West Children's Orthopaedic Group. Committed to training the next generation of medical professionals, he holds Honorary Senior Lecturer posts at the University of Liverpool, the University of Dundee, and Edge Hill University, and regularly lectures on paediatric orthopaedics and spinal disorders.
