Mr Matthew Kent

Mr. Matthew Kent is an accomplished Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery. He earned his degree from the University of Liverpool in 1999, and after completing his junior doctor training in the Merseyside region, he relocated to Cambridge to complete his specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics. The last year of his formal education was spent as a fellow covering upper limb trauma and elbow surgery. He then spent an additional year as a shoulder and elbow fellow at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals, in order to gain more specialised skills in this field from a unit internationally recognized for this type of work. Furthermore, he has visited specialist centres across Europe and North America to bring new skills and techniques back to Liverpool.

Mr Kent is now a Consultant at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he is helping to expand research in the unit as prinipal investigator on a number of national studies.  He is clinical lead for the shoulder and elbow department, having previously held the role of clinical director for trauma and orthopaedics.  

Mr. Kent is dedicated to providing a personalised service with treatments that focus on the individual's needs and expectations. He closely works with treating therapists to ensure optimal coordination of care and outcomes.
