I saw Mr Walker after my GP had confirmed I was suffering with Dupuytren's contracture in the little finger of my left hand. I will admit that I was quite depressed by this since, apart from anything else, it was preventing me play my musical instrument. I chose Mr Walker because it was clear from my research that this was something he was particularly experienced in treating so I booked an appointment to see him at the Wirral Spire. From the moment I entered the room he was very friendly and made me feel comfortable whilst explaining what he could do to help. He was honest in that he said it couldn't be cured but he could help in the medium term. I subsequently arranged for him to operate on my hand and the outcome of this was that it was a complete success, I have a straight finger, and I can now play guitar again. Even the operation was as pleasant as operations can be and the aftercare, excellent. I would therefore have no hesitation in recommending others to chose Mr Walker to treat this condition if they too have it in their hand.

Most patients will feel a little apprehensive prior to even a minor surgical procedure. That was certainly my experience, but any fears I had were quickly dispelled as my surgeon confirmed exactly how the proposed surgery might be expected to alleviate my uncomfortable symptoms. The surgery itself was conducted speedily and expertly, whilst maintaining friendly contact with the patient . I was given expert advice on post operative treatment of the wound, and 2 weeks later had a friendly review with him, to confirm that the treatment had been totally successful, and the wound had healed without complication.

I saw Mr Walker twice before I had my thumb surgery. He explained everything clearly and thoroughly. I felt very reassured that I was making the right decision, which it was as the surgery was a complete success. I would certainly recommend Mr Walker to anyone.

I'm happy with the information about my trigger finger and what treatment could be implemented. Neil gave me very sound advice and I feel he is concerned about his patients welfare rather than the money aspect. i was worried about a possible operation as I'm a craftsman and the time off for my finger to heal would have been costly. Neil was very reassuring and gave me his opinion in a blunt & honest fashion which i appreciated.
