Dr Clare Garnsey

Dr Clare Garnsey is a dedicated Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in oncoplastic breast surgery. Focused on providing compassionate and patient-centred care, she offers expert diagnostic assessments and individualised treatment plans for individuals experiencing a wide range of breast health concerns. Dr Garnsey is committed to guiding patients through every stage of their care journey, ensuring clear communication, empathetic support, and high standards of clinical excellence.

Her areas of clinical interest span the full scope of breast disease management, from investigating early symptoms and breast pain to conducting advanced surgical procedures. Dr Garnsey performs procedures including therapeutic mammoplasty, breast-conserving surgery, and breast reconstruction. In addition to surgical intervention, she focuses on early detection strategies, family history risk evaluations, and risk-reducing endocrine therapies to promote long-term health and well-being.

Dr Garnsey completed her medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Edinburgh before undergoing basic surgical training in Scotland and Manchester, followed by higher surgical training within the North Western Deanery. She subsequently undertook specialist fellowship training in oncoplastic breast surgery. Dr Garnsey is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow and holds professional memberships with the Association of Breast Surgeons, the British Medical Association, and the Medical Defence Union of Scotland.
