Mr Christopher Munson

Mr. Christopher Munson is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, specialising in aesthetic breast surgery, breast reconstruction, and body contouring surgery. He is one of the few surgeons worldwide to be accredited in both plastic and breast surgery, reflecting his expertise in these areas.

Mr. Munson’s specialisation covers all aspects of aesthetic breast surgery and breast reconstruction, including advanced oncoplastic techniques, implant-based and microsurgical breast reconstruction, and complex revisional surgery. He performs a full range of breast surgeries such as breast reduction, breast uplift, breast augmentation, and lipomodelling. Additionally, he is highly skilled in body contouring procedures, including abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and thigh and arm lifts.

With extensive experience in breast procedures, Mr. Munson has performed around 1,000 breast surgeries, including complex revisional surgery for patients who have encountered issues following previous breast surgery.

A unique aspect of Mr. Munson’s training is his background in oncoplastic breast surgery, having completed specialist fellowships at the renowned Nightingale Breast Centre in Manchester. This additional training enables him to provide advanced surgical options for breast cancer patients, enhancing both cosmetic and functional outcomes.

Beyond his clinical practice, Mr. Munson is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of plastic surgeons. He serves as the Leeds specialist training lead for plastic surgery and as the plastic surgery lead for the nationally appointed Oncoplastic TIG fellowship. He is also an interviewer for nationally appointed training posts in both plastic surgery and oncoplastic breast surgery. Furthermore, Mr. Munson runs the highly regarded MY Plastic Surgery courses for junior doctors, sharing his expertise and training future leaders in the field.
